You Have Three Options

A 100-word flash fiction

“Look, son, there’s something that has been upsetting me for the last year,” Dad pauses for a second.

“Yeah, son, me and your dad have talked comprehensively about this — but we feel we should also involve you.”

“Your mom is right. You are grown up now and should make some decisions on your own. We are letting you three options. What do you want to become? A lawyer, a doctor, or an engineer? The choice is all yours. You have five minutes to decide, no more. We have already waited far too much — a year-long wait is no joke.”
